Pursuant to Executive Order 14168, "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government," DoD replaces the term “gender” with “sex” throughout 132 of its SORNs. This change replaces a non-compliant term with a compliant term in the impacted notices, but it does not involve a change to the records maintained in the underlying systems of records. Therefore, it is not a “significant change” under section 6(b) of OMB Circular No. A-108, “Federal Agency Responsibilities for Review, Reporting, and Publication under the Privacy Act.” A list of impacted SORNs can be found here.
