Creating a DS Logon Account
Step 1: Access the DS Logon Website
Step 2: Select “Create New Account”
•On the homepage, click on the “Create New Account” button.
Step 3: Choose Your Registration Method
•You will be presented with two options:
•CAC Registration: If you have a Common Access Card (CAC) and a card reader.
•Email Registration: If you have a valid DoD ID card or CAC and a unique email address
in DEERS.
Step 4: Email Registration (if selected)
•Enter your personal information, including your DoD ID number and email address.
•Follow the instructions sent to your email to complete the registration process.
Step 5: CAC Registration (if selected)
•Insert your CAC into the card reader.
•Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity and complete the registration.
Step 6: Set Up Your Account
•Create a username and password.
•Set up security questions for account recovery.
Step 7: Verify Your Account
•Log in to your email and click on the verification link sent by DS Logon.
Follow any additional instructions to complete the verification process.
